Both Dinossom Lux and Mossanda Lux hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Kitsun comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

The 120 easiest of 268 parent pairs for Kitsun

Every pair that produces Kitsun averages to its breed rank of 1670, and 268 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 148 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Kitsun combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Kitsun when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1670. 268 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Kitsun

3 breeding steps from a starter box reach Kitsun. Surfent and Dumud make Surfent Terra, then Wispaw and Surfent Terra make Katress, then Katress and Loupmoon Cryst make Kitsun.

Kitsun passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Kitsun egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

2 specific passives2 60.0%3

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Kitsun worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one. Kitsun spawns from level 34, well short of the 3-step chain it takes to make one. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 3 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 15 catch. With 268 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Kitsun work suitability and drops

Kitsun has Kindling 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Flame Organ when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Kitsun is actually for once it hatches

Kindling 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Kindling pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 115 beats 77% of the roster, so it fights as well as it works.

Kitsun active skills and partner skill

Kitsun learns 10 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Wolf of the Sun. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Kitsun breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Kitsun produces 98 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Kitsun breeding FAQ

Can you breed Kitsun in Palworld?
Yes. 268 pairs produce Kitsun in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Dinossom Lux and Mossanda Lux, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Kitsun in Palworld?
Dinossom Lux and Mossanda Lux, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 15, which makes it the cheapest of the 268 pairs that produce Kitsun. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1670.
Can you catch Kitsun in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 34-38. Its spawn points fall inside 2 named regions, the densest Frostbound Mountains, where they run level 34-38 at night. There is no alpha Kitsun, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 31 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Kitsun breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 268 of Kitsun's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Kitsun be bred in the early game?
The cheapest pair needs a level 15 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 3 steps, opening with Surfent and Dumud. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
Can Kitsun inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Kitsun is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Dinossom Lux and Mossanda Lux has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Dinossom Lux and Mossanda Lux pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
