Why an older Cryolinx combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Cryolinx when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1040. 175 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Cryolinx
No chain of starter pals reaches Cryolinx inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 42-49.
Cryolinx passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Cryolinx egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Cryolinx worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Breed toward it, then catch one when you get there. Cryolinx only spawns at level 42-49, late enough that a pair often lands first. Nothing in a starter box reaches it inside six generations, and the cheapest pair needs a level 30 catch. With 175 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Cryolinx in the wild
Cryolinx spawns in Astral Mountains, the one named region its markers land in, at level 44-49. Another 2 of its spawn points sit outside every named region.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Astral Mountains | 44-49 | 36 |
Cryolinx work suitability and drops
Cryolinx has Lumbering 4 and Cooling 4 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Ice Organ when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Cryolinx is actually for once it hatches
Lumbering 4 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Lumbering pals for what beats it. Cooling 4 sits right behind it, so one Cryolinx covers two jobs.
Cryolinx active skills and partner skill
Cryolinx learns 9 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Dragon Hunter. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Paired with other species, Cryolinx produces 86 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Cryolinx breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Cryolinx in Palworld?
- Yes. 175 pairs produce Cryolinx in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mossanda Lux and Warsect Terra, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Cryolinx in Palworld?
- Mossanda Lux and Warsect Terra, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 30, which makes it the cheapest of the 175 pairs that produce Cryolinx. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1040.
- Can you catch Cryolinx in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 42-49. Its spawn points fall inside one named region, Astral Mountains, where they run level 44-49. There is no alpha Cryolinx, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 38 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Cryolinx breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 175 of Cryolinx's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Cryolinx be bred in the early game?
- No. No chain of starter pals reaches Cryolinx inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 42-49. 175 pairs breed more of them, the cheapest Mossanda Lux and Warsect Terra, which needs a level 30 catch of its own.
- Can Cryolinx inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Cryolinx is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Mossanda Lux and Warsect Terra has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mossanda Lux and Warsect Terra pair you already own.
