Gender odds on the Grizzbolt and Warsect Terra pair

Warsect Terra is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 85% male, so the female you need turns up 15 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

The 120 easiest of 335 parent pairs for Wumpo

Every pair that produces Wumpo averages to its breed rank of 830, and 335 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 215 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Wumpo combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Wumpo when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 830. 335 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Wumpo

No chain of starter pals reaches Wumpo inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 42-80.

Wumpo passive skill odds per egg

Wumpo hatches with Heavyweight already fixed, so only 3 of its four passive slots are ever in play. A parent pool of exactly those 3 lands all of them 30% of the time per egg. Four inherited passive skills is impossible for it, not merely unlikely.

You wantParent poolPer eggEggs for 90%
3 specific passives3 30.0%7
3 specific passives4 7.5%30
3 specific passives5 3.0%76
2 specific passives2 60.0%3
2 specific passives4 20.0%11

With 3 slots to play with, a junk passive on a parent is a cap rather than a delay. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in passive inheritance odds with a fixed passive skill, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Wumpo worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Breed toward it, then catch one when you get there. Wumpo only spawns at level 42-80, late enough that a pair often lands first. Nothing in a starter box reaches it inside six generations, and the cheapest pair needs a level 30 catch. With 335 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Where to find Wumpo in the wild

Wumpo work suitability and drops

Wumpo has Transporting 6 and Lumbering 5 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Beautiful Flower when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Wumpo is actually for once it hatches

Transporting 6 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Transporting pals for what beats it. Lumbering 5 sits right behind it, so one Wumpo covers two jobs.

Wumpo active skills and partner skill

Wumpo learns 9 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Guardian of the Snowy Mountain. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Wumpo breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Wumpo produces 83 different children, the rarest of them Anubis and Mammorest Cryst. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Wumpo breeding FAQ

Can you breed Wumpo in Palworld?
Yes. 335 pairs produce Wumpo in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Grizzbolt and Warsect Terra, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Wumpo in Palworld?
Grizzbolt and Warsect Terra, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 30, which makes it the cheapest of the 335 pairs that produce Wumpo. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 830.
Can you catch Wumpo in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 42-80. Its spawn points fall inside one named region, Astral Mountains, where they run level 45-52. There is no alpha Wumpo, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 52 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Wumpo breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 335 of Wumpo's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Wumpo be bred in the early game?
No. No chain of starter pals reaches Wumpo inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 42-80. 335 pairs breed more of them, the cheapest Grizzbolt and Warsect Terra, which needs a level 30 catch of its own.
Can Wumpo inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
No. Wumpo is born with Heavyweight already fixed, which leaves 3 of its four passive slots for inherited ones. The most you can inherit onto it is 3, and with a clean pool of exactly those 3 that is 30% per egg.

Route this pair from your own save
