Every source of Leather, with drop rates
All 79 droppers, with the per-kill amount, the roll chance where the drop is not guaranteed, and the wild level band each pal spawns in. Alpha-only rows are flagged, and a normal wild pal of that species pays nothing. Where a row reads "chance unlisted" the game's drop table carries no roll number for it, which happens on alpha rows whose item the ordinary row also drops.

Where to farm Leather early
Fuddler is the earliest source that pays reliably: ×1-2 per kill, wild from level 1, which puts it in the first hour of the game. 17 of the 79 are nocturnal, Eidrolon among them, so part of the list only shows up after dark. The wild bands on this list reach level 80, so the sources hold up into the endgame.
Fuddler drops 2 other things on the same kill: Ancient Civilization Parts at ×1-2, Precious Claw at ×1-2. Mammorest drops 3 other things on the same kill: Decayed Ancient Relic at ×30-50, Dormant Ancient Relic at ×10-20, Grass Radiant Gem at ×10-20. Worth knowing before you decide the trip is only about Leather. Fuddler's densest spawn is Desiccated Dunes, 328 points at level 31-38. Killing pals is not the only route: Leather is in the expedition loot pool at about 100% per expedition.
Almost every early armor recipe wants it, and the game notes it comes off certain pals rather than all of them. That makes the choice of dropper the whole optimization here.
How much Leather you get per kill
Leather comes in ×1 to ×10 per kill: Mammorest pays the top ×5-10 and Vixy the bottom ×1. Capturing counts the same as killing for drops, so a sphere and a finishing hit pay identically.
Leather farming FAQ
- What drops Leather in Palworld?
- 79 pals drop Leather in Palworld 1.0. The best single source is Mammorest at ×5-10 per kill every time. Every dropper, its amount and the wild level band it spawns in is listed in the table on this page, taken from the game's own drop data.
- What is Leather used for in Palworld?
- Leather is for armor, early and often. It is the base defensive material, which is worth knowing before you commit to the farm: 79 pals roll it, the best of them Mammorest at ×5-10 per kill every time.
- Where can I farm Leather early?
- Fuddler is the earliest source worth farming: ×1-2 per kill, and it spawns wild from level 1. It is a soft target long before you can take on Mammorest, which pays more but wants real gear.
- How do you farm Leather fast in Palworld?
- Kill the highest-amount dropper you can survive. Mammorest gives ×5-10 per kill against Fuddler's ×1-2, so one trip to the top of the table beats several to the bottom of it once you can fight it. Capturing pays the same as killing.
- Do alpha pals drop Leather?
- Yes, and for 2 of the 79 droppers the alpha is the only version that pays. Those rows are flagged "alpha only" on this page, which means a normal wild pal of the same species drops nothing however many you kill. Aegidron is the first of them.
Stop farming the wrong pal
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in the browser and routes to the best dropper on
this page from the box you already own. The trip starts from what you have rather than from
scratch. Nothing is uploaded.
