Gender odds on the Dazzi and Ribbuny pair

Dazzi is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 20% male, so the male you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Paldex entry

“When in doubt, punch it till it works—that’s Herbil's approach to fixing things. With strength perfectly tuned for humans, sometimes just one punch is enough to restart a stopped heart.”

Herbil is a Grass/Neutral-type pal with 142 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 1-50. It is an early-game catch, so nothing needs breeding. Best jobs: Planting 1, Gathering 1.

The 120 easiest of 142 parent pairs for Herbil

Every pair that produces Herbil averages to its breed rank of 2630, and 142 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 22 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Herbil combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Herbil when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2630. 142 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Herbil

Herbil is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 1-50, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.

Herbil passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Herbil egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Herbil worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one, and early. Herbil shows up from level 1, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. With 142 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Herbil work suitability and drops

Herbil has Planting 1 and Gathering 1 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Leather when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Herbil is actually for once it hatches

Planting 1 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Planting pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 75 beats only 14% of the roster, so it is filler on both counts.

Herbil active skills and partner skill

Herbil learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Herbil Pulse. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Herbil breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Herbil produces 103 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Elizabee. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Herbil breeding FAQ

Can you breed Herbil in Palworld?
Yes. 142 pairs produce Herbil in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Dazzi and Ribbuny, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Herbil in Palworld?
Dazzi and Ribbuny, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 142 pairs that produce Herbil. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2630.
Can you catch Herbil in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 1-50. Its spawn points fall inside 5 named regions, the densest Deep Bamboo Thicket, where they run level 10-15. There is no alpha Herbil, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 188 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Herbil breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 142 of Herbil's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Herbil be bred in the early game?
Yes. Herbil is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 1-50, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
Can Herbil inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Herbil is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Dazzi and Ribbuny has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Dazzi and Ribbuny pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
