Gender odds on the Vanwyrm and Mossanda Lux pair
Both Vanwyrm and Mossanda Lux hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Digtoise comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Digtoise combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Digtoise when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1550. 276 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Digtoise
4 breeding steps from a starter box reach Digtoise, beginning with Arsox and Chillet. Every egg after that becomes a parent in the next step.
- 1
- 2
- 3

Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Digtoise passive skill odds per egg
Digtoise hatches with Hard Skin already fixed, so only 3 of its four passive slots are ever in play. A parent pool of exactly those 3 lands all of them 30% of the time per egg. Four inherited passive skills is impossible for it, not merely unlikely.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 7.5% | 30 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 3.0% | 76 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 20.0% | 11 |
With 3 slots to play with, a junk passive on a parent is a cap rather than a delay. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in passive inheritance odds with a fixed passive skill, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Digtoise worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Digtoise spawns from level 17, well short of the 4-step chain it takes to make one. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 4 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 20 catch. With 276 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Digtoise in the wild

What Digtoise is actually for once it hatches
Mining 4 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Mining pals for what beats it.
Digtoise active skills and partner skill
Digtoise learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Drill Crusher. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Digtoise breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Digtoise in Palworld?
- Yes. 276 pairs produce Digtoise in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Vanwyrm and Mossanda Lux, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Digtoise in Palworld?
- Vanwyrm and Mossanda Lux, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 20, which makes it the cheapest of the 276 pairs that produce Digtoise. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1550.
- Can you catch Digtoise in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 17-44. Its spawn points fall inside 9 named regions, the densest Desiccated Dunes, where they run level 33-39. There is no alpha Digtoise, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 657 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Digtoise breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 276 of Digtoise's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Digtoise be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 20 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 4 steps, opening with Arsox and Chillet. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Digtoise inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- No. Digtoise is born with Hard Skin already fixed, which leaves 3 of its four passive slots for inherited ones. The most you can inherit onto it is 3, and with a clean pool of exactly those 3 that is 30% per egg.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Vanwyrm and Mossanda Lux pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
