Gender odds on the Mimog and Foxparks Cryst pair
Mimog is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 80% male, so the female you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Why an older Grintale combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Grintale when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2120. 208 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Grintale
2 breeding steps from a starter box reach Grintale. Surfent and Dumud make Surfent Terra, then Dazzi and Surfent Terra make Grintale.
- 1
- 2
Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Grintale passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Grintale egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Grintale worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Grintale spawns from level 17, and the alpha at level 17 in Marsh Island hands you a guaranteed one on the way past. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 2 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 15 catch. With 208 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Grintale in the wild
Grintale spawns in Ancient Ritual Site and 10 other areas, at level 25-28. Some of those spawns are night only. Another 196 of its spawn points sit outside every named region. Its alpha stands at level 17 in Marsh Island.

Grintale work suitability and drops
Grintale has Gathering 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and High Quality Pal Oil when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Grintale is actually for once it hatches
Gathering 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Gathering pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 80 beats only 21% of the roster, so it is filler on both counts.
Grintale active skills and partner skill
Grintale learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Glaring Cat's Eye. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Grintale breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Grintale produces 100 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Grintale breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Grintale in Palworld?
- Yes. 208 pairs produce Grintale in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mimog and Foxparks Cryst, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Grintale in Palworld?
- Mimog and Foxparks Cryst, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 15, which makes it the cheapest of the 208 pairs that produce Grintale. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2120.
- Can you catch Grintale in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 17-48. Its spawn points fall inside 11 named regions, the densest Ancient Ritual Site, where they run level 25-28 at night. There is also an alpha Grintale at level 17 in Marsh Island, which beats waiting on a spawn.
- Are these Grintale breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 208 of Grintale's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Grintale be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 15 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 2 steps, opening with Surfent and Dumud. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Grintale inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Grintale is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Mimog and Foxparks Cryst has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mimog and Foxparks Cryst pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
