Gender odds on the Mimog and Cattiva pair

Mimog is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 80% male, so the female you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Paldex entry

“The ghostly hands behind it embody the souls of all humans who have raised its kind. Lately, they seem to have reached a unanimous consensus to dote on Wispaw.”

Wispaw is a Dark-type pal with 273 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 11-73. It is an early-game catch, so nothing needs breeding. Best jobs: Handiwork 2, Lumbering 1.

The 120 easiest of 273 parent pairs for Wispaw

Every pair that produces Wispaw averages to its breed rank of 2250, and 273 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 153 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Wispaw combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Wispaw when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2250. 273 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Wispaw

Wispaw is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 11-73, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.

Wispaw passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Wispaw egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

2 specific passives2 60.0%3

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Wispaw worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one, and early. Wispaw shows up from level 11, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. With 273 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Wispaw work suitability and drops

Wispaw has Handiwork 2 and Lumbering 1 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Decayed Ancient Relic when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Wispaw is actually for once it hatches

Handiwork 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Handiwork pals for anything that does it properly. It works through the night, when the rest of the base is asleep.

Wispaw active skills and partner skill

Wispaw learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Death-Cheating Feline. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Wispaw breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Wispaw produces 102 different children, the rarest of them Vaelet and Elizabee. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Wispaw breeding FAQ

Can you breed Wispaw in Palworld?
Yes. 273 pairs produce Wispaw in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mimog and Cattiva, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Wispaw in Palworld?
Mimog and Cattiva, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 5, which makes it the cheapest of the 273 pairs that produce Wispaw. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2250.
Can you catch Wispaw in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 11-73. Its spawn points fall inside 4 named regions, the densest Marsh Island, where they run level 11-12 at night. There is no alpha Wispaw, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 159 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Wispaw breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 273 of Wispaw's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Wispaw be bred in the early game?
Yes. Wispaw is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 11-73, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
Can Wispaw inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Wispaw is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Mimog and Cattiva has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mimog and Cattiva pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
