Gender odds on the Finsider and Flopie pair
Both Finsider and Flopie hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Nitewing comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Nitewing combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Nitewing when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2560. 118 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Nitewing
Nitewing is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 12-40, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.
Nitewing passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Nitewing egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in Palworld passive inheritance odds per egg, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Nitewing worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one, and early. Nitewing shows up from level 12, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. With 118 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Nitewing in the wild
Nitewing spawns in Deep Bamboo Thicket and 8 other areas, at level 12-16. Another 80 of its spawn points sit outside every named region. Its alpha stands at level 18 in Deep Bamboo Thicket.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Deep Bamboo Thicket | 12-16 | 124 |
| Marsh Island | 12-13 | 63 |
| Twilight Dunes | 12-16 | 23 |
| Bamboo Groves | 12-16 | 21 |
| Sea Breeze Archipelago | 12-13 | 19 |
| Golden Hills | 12-13 | 19 |
| Autumn Rocks | 12-13 | 17 |
| Foot of the Volcano | 12-16 | 10 |
| Fortress Ruins | 12-13 | 8 |
Nitewing work suitability and drops
Nitewing has Gathering 2 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Leather when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Nitewing is actually for once it hatches
Gathering 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Gathering pals for anything that does it properly. It eats 2 food slots, so it is cheap to keep fed.
Nitewing active skills and partner skill
Nitewing learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Travel Companion. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Nitewing breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Nitewing produces 104 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Nitewing breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Nitewing in Palworld?
- Yes. 118 pairs produce Nitewing in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Finsider and Flopie, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Nitewing in Palworld?
- Finsider and Flopie, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 118 pairs that produce Nitewing. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2560.
- Can you catch Nitewing in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 12-40. Its spawn points fall inside 9 named regions, the densest Deep Bamboo Thicket, where they run level 12-16. There is also an alpha Nitewing at level 18 in Deep Bamboo Thicket, which beats waiting on a spawn.
- Are these Nitewing breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 118 of Nitewing's pairs are in the list. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Nitewing be bred in the early game?
- Yes. Nitewing is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 12-40, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
- Can Nitewing inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Nitewing is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Finsider and Flopie has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Finsider and Flopie pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
