Both Digtoise and Helzephyr hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Mammorest comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Mammorest combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Mammorest when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1340. 774 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Mammorest
2 breeding steps from a starter box reach Mammorest. Surfent and Dumud make Surfent Terra, then Surfent Terra and Petallia Ignis make Mammorest.
- 1
- 2
Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Mammorest passive skill odds per egg
Mammorest hatches with Heavyweight already fixed, so only 3 of its four passive slots are ever in play. A parent pool of exactly those 3 lands all of them 30% of the time per egg. Four inherited passive skills is impossible for it, not merely unlikely.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 7.5% | 30 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 3.0% | 76 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 20.0% | 11 |
With 3 slots to play with, a junk passive on a parent is a cap rather than a delay. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in passive inheritance odds with a fixed passive skill, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Mammorest worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Mammorest spawns from level 26, and the alpha at level 38 hands you a guaranteed one on the way past. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 2 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 24 catch. With 774 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Mammorest in the wild

Mammorest work suitability and drops
Mammorest has Planting 4 and Lumbering 4 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Decayed Ancient Relic when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Mammorest is actually for once it hatches
Planting 4 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Planting pals for what beats it. Lumbering 4 sits right behind it, so one Mammorest covers two jobs.
Mammorest active skills and partner skill
Mammorest learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Gaia Crusher. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Mammorest breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Mammorest in Palworld?
- Yes. 774 pairs produce Mammorest in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Digtoise and Helzephyr, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Mammorest in Palworld?
- Digtoise and Helzephyr, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 24, which makes it the cheapest of the 774 pairs that produce Mammorest. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1340.
- Can you catch Mammorest in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 26-80. Its spawn points fall inside 13 named regions, the densest Foot of the Astral Mountains, where they run level 36-39. There is also an alpha Mammorest at level 38, which beats waiting on a spawn. The map on this page marks 482 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Mammorest breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 774 of Mammorest's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Mammorest be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 24 catch, so not much before mid-game. From a starter box the chain runs 2 steps, opening with Surfent and Dumud. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Mammorest inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- No. Mammorest is born with Heavyweight already fixed, which leaves 3 of its four passive slots for inherited ones. The most you can inherit onto it is 3, and with a clean pool of exactly those 3 that is 30% per egg.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Digtoise and Helzephyr pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
