Gender odds on the Mimog and Dumud pair
Mimog is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 80% male, so the female you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Why an older Elgrove combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Elgrove when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2020. 307 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Elgrove
2 breeding steps from a starter box reach Elgrove. Wispaw and Munchill make Dazemu, then Dazemu and Surfent Terra make Elgrove.

- 2
Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Elgrove passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Elgrove egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the full Palworld passive inheritance odds table, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Elgrove worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Elgrove spawns from level 24, well short of the 2-step chain it takes to make one. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 2 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 5 catch. With 307 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Elgrove in the wild
Elgrove spawns in Bamboo Groves and 2 other areas, at level 24-26. Another 16 of its spawn points sit outside every named region.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Bamboo Groves | 24-26 | 52 |
| Wildlife Sanctuary 1 | 24-26 | 6 |
| Foot of the Volcano | 24-26 | 1 |
Elgrove work suitability and drops
Elgrove has Planting 3 and Lumbering 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Decayed Ancient Relic when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Elgrove is actually for once it hatches
Planting 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Planting pals for anything that does it properly. It eats 8 food slots a sitting, which is a real cost once a base is full.
Elgrove active skills and partner skill
Elgrove learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Mother Nature's Menace. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Elgrove breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Elgrove produces 97 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Elgrove breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Elgrove in Palworld?
- Yes. 307 pairs produce Elgrove in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mimog and Dumud, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Elgrove in Palworld?
- Mimog and Dumud, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 5, which makes it the cheapest of the 307 pairs that produce Elgrove. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2020.
- Can you catch Elgrove in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 24-80. Its spawn points fall inside 3 named regions, the densest Bamboo Groves, where they run level 24-26. There is no alpha Elgrove, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 75 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Elgrove breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 307 of Elgrove's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Elgrove be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 5 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 2 steps, opening with Wispaw and Munchill. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Elgrove inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Elgrove is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Mimog and Dumud has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mimog and Dumud pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
