Gender odds on the Finsider and Turtacle pair
Both Finsider and Turtacle hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Surfent comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Paldex entry
“Its hydrodynamic form is well suited for activities on water. Poachers often catch them and use them in place of surfboards.”
Surfent is a Water-type pal with 214 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 12-35. It is an early-game catch, so nothing needs breeding. Best jobs: Watering 3, Farming 2.
Partner skill
Swift Swimmer. Can be ridden to travel on water. Sometimes drops Leather when assigned to Ranch.

Why an older Surfent combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Surfent when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2440. 214 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Surfent
Surfent is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 12-35, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.
Surfent passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Surfent egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Surfent worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one, and early. Surfent shows up from level 12, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. With 214 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Surfent in the wild
Surfent spawns in Gobfin's Turf and 13 other areas, at level 20-26. Some of those spawns are night only. Another 127 of its spawn points sit outside every named region.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Gobfin's Turf · night | 20-26 | 41 |
| Frostbound Mountains | 24-35 | 20 |
| Sea Breeze Archipelago | 12-16 | 19 |
| Oasis Isle | 24-28 | 17 |

| Bamboo Groves | 12-16 | 7 |
| Wildlife Sanctuary 3 | 24-28 | 7 |
Surfent work suitability and drops
Surfent has Watering 3 and Farming 2 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Aquatic Pal Fluids when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Surfent is actually for once it hatches
Watering 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Watering pals for anything that does it properly. It eats 3 food slots, so it is cheap to keep fed.
Surfent active skills and partner skill
Surfent learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Swift Swimmer. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Surfent breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Surfent produces 100 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Elphidran Aqua. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Surfent breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Surfent in Palworld?
- Yes. 214 pairs produce Surfent in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Finsider and Turtacle, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Surfent in Palworld?
- Finsider and Turtacle, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 5, which makes it the cheapest of the 214 pairs that produce Surfent. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2440.
- Can you catch Surfent in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 12-35. Its spawn points fall inside 14 named regions, the densest Gobfin's Turf, where they run level 20-26 at night. There is no alpha Surfent, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 294 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Surfent breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 214 of Surfent's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Surfent be bred in the early game?
- Yes. Surfent is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 12-35, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
- Can Surfent inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Surfent is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Finsider and Turtacle has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Finsider and Turtacle pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
