Gender odds on the Mimog and Arsox pair

Mimog is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 80% male, so the female you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

The 120 easiest of 447 parent pairs for Katress

Every pair that produces Katress averages to its breed rank of 2040, and 447 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 327 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Katress combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Katress when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2040. 447 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Katress

2 breeding steps from a starter box reach Katress. Surfent and Dumud make Surfent Terra, then Wispaw and Surfent Terra make Katress.

Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.

Katress passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Katress egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

3 specific passives5 6.0%38
2 specific passives2 60.0%3

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the full Palworld passive inheritance odds table, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Katress worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one. Katress spawns from level 20, well short of the 2-step chain it takes to make one. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 2 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 5 catch. With 447 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Katress work suitability and drops

Katress has Handiwork 3 and Medicine Production 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Advanced Technical Manual and Ancient Civilization Parts when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Katress is actually for once it hatches

Handiwork 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Handiwork pals for anything that does it properly. It works through the night, when the rest of the base is asleep.

Katress active skills and partner skill

Katress learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Mystical Black Magic. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Katress breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Katress produces 98 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Katress breeding FAQ

Can you breed Katress in Palworld?
Yes. 447 pairs produce Katress in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mimog and Arsox, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Katress in Palworld?
Mimog and Arsox, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 5, which makes it the cheapest of the 447 pairs that produce Katress. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2040.
Can you catch Katress in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 20-46. Its spawn points fall inside 12 named regions, the densest Ancient Ritual Site, where they run level 25-28 at night. There is no alpha Katress, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 615 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Katress breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 447 of Katress's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Katress be bred in the early game?
The cheapest pair needs a level 5 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 2 steps, opening with Surfent and Dumud. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
Can Katress inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Katress is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Mimog and Arsox has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mimog and Arsox pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
