Gender odds on the Digtoise and Felbat pair
Both Digtoise and Felbat hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Bushi comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Paldex entry
“Its body becomes a blade upon death, to be taken up by the next generation. If someone other than a Bushi wields this blade, the soul within torments them until they are driven mad.”
Bushi is a Fire-type pal with 286 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 25-59. Shortest chain from a starter box: 4 steps. Best jobs: Lumbering 3, Kindling 2.
Partner skill
Brandish Blade. When activated, attacks targeted enemy with Iaigiri. When this Pal uses Iaigiri, it has a x1.1 damage multiplier.

The 120 easiest of 286 parent pairs for Bushi
Every pair that produces Bushi averages to its breed rank of 1560, and 286 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

Why an older Bushi combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Bushi when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1560. 286 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Bushi
4 breeding steps from a starter box reach Bushi, beginning with Arsox and Dumud. Every egg after that becomes a parent in the next step.
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Bushi passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Bushi egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Bushi worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Bushi spawns from level 25, and the alpha at level 25 in Bamboo Groves hands you a guaranteed one on the way past. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 4 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 20 catch. With 286 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Bushi in the wild

Bushi work suitability and drops
Bushi has Lumbering 3 and Kindling 2 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Bone when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Bushi is actually for once it hatches
Lumbering 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Lumbering pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 125 beats 90% of the roster, so it fights as well as it works.
Bushi active skills and partner skill
Bushi learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Brandish Blade. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Paired with other species, Bushi produces 95 different children, the rarest of them Petallia Ignis and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Bushi breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Bushi in Palworld?
- Yes. 286 pairs produce Bushi in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Digtoise and Felbat, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Bushi in Palworld?
- Digtoise and Felbat, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 20, which makes it the cheapest of the 286 pairs that produce Bushi. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1560.
- Can you catch Bushi in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 25-59. Its spawn points fall inside 21 named regions, the densest Desiccated Dunes, where they run level 30-42. There is also an alpha Bushi at level 25 in Bamboo Groves, which beats waiting on a spawn. The map on this page marks 1801 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Bushi breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 286 of Bushi's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Bushi be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 20 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 4 steps, opening with Arsox and Dumud. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Bushi inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Bushi is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Digtoise and Felbat has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Digtoise and Felbat pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
