Gender odds on the Broncherry and Mossanda Lux pair

Both Broncherry and Mossanda Lux hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Leafan itself comes out 40% male, which matters later if you pair two of them. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

“To hone the martial art passed down through a single bloodline: Daily training is the only way! Being distracted by romance? Unthinkable! Daily discipline is the only way! The time has come! Shoot my shot! Instant rejection, that’s all there is! The techniques of love were never passed down... Lingering regret, that’s all there is!”

The 120 easiest of 239 parent pairs for Leafan

Every pair that produces Leafan averages to its breed rank of 1410, and 239 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 119 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Leafan combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Leafan when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1410. 239 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Leafan

4 breeding steps from a starter box reach Leafan, beginning with Arsox and Chillet. Every egg after that becomes a parent in the next step.

Leafan passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Leafan egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Leafan worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one. Leafan spawns from level 28, well short of the 4-step chain it takes to make one. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 4 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 23 catch. With 239 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Leafan work suitability and drops

Leafan has Planting 3 and Handiwork 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Leather when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Leafan is actually for once it hatches

Planting 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Planting pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 115 beats 77% of the roster, so it fights as well as it works.

Leafan active skills and partner skill

Leafan learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Selfless Discipline. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Leafan breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Leafan produces 89 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Leafan breeding FAQ

Can you breed Leafan in Palworld?
Yes. 239 pairs produce Leafan in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Broncherry and Mossanda Lux, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Leafan in Palworld?
Broncherry and Mossanda Lux, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 23, which makes it the cheapest of the 239 pairs that produce Leafan. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1410.
Can you catch Leafan in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 28-69. Its spawn points fall inside 3 named regions, the densest Gobfin's Turf, where they run level 28-30. There is no alpha Leafan, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 52 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Leafan breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 239 of Leafan's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Leafan be bred in the early game?
The cheapest pair needs a level 23 catch, so not much before mid-game. From a starter box the chain runs 4 steps, opening with Arsox and Chillet. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
Can Leafan inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Leafan is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Broncherry and Mossanda Lux has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Broncherry and Mossanda Lux pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
