Gender odds on the Blazehowl and Ghangler pair
Both Blazehowl and Ghangler hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Menasting comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Menasting combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Menasting when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1120. 181 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Menasting
5 breeding steps from a starter box reach Menasting, beginning with Arsox and Chillet. Every egg after that becomes a parent in the next step.

- 2

Menasting passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Menasting egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Menasting worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Menasting spawns from level 31, and the alpha at level 44 hands you a guaranteed one on the way past. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 5 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 30 catch. With 181 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Menasting in the wild
Menasting spawns in Desiccated Dunes and 5 other areas, at level 31-43. Another 96 of its spawn points sit outside every named region. Its alpha stands at level 44.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Desiccated Dunes | 31-43 | 312 |
| Scars of War | 31-38 | 39 |
| Isle of the Glacial Core | 31-42 | 39 |
| Wildlife Sanctuary 3 | 31-35 | 26 |
| Frostbound Mountains | 31-40 | 26 |
| Oasis Isle | 31-35 | 7 |
Menasting work suitability and drops
Menasting has Mining 5 and Lumbering 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor Schematic 4 when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Menasting is actually for once it hatches
Mining 5 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Mining pals for what beats it. It works through the night, when the rest of the base is asleep. At rarity 9 of 20 you will not trip over one.
Menasting active skills and partner skill
Menasting learns 9 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Steel Scorpion. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Paired with other species, Menasting produces 89 different children, the rarest of them Menasting Terra and Lyleen Noct. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Menasting breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Menasting in Palworld?
- Yes. 181 pairs produce Menasting in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Blazehowl and Ghangler, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Menasting in Palworld?
- Blazehowl and Ghangler, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 30, which makes it the cheapest of the 181 pairs that produce Menasting. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1120.
- Can you catch Menasting in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 31-44. Its spawn points fall inside 6 named regions, the densest Desiccated Dunes, where they run level 31-43. There is also an alpha Menasting at level 44, which beats waiting on a spawn. The map on this page marks 545 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Menasting breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 181 of Menasting's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Menasting be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 30 catch, so not much before mid-game. From a starter box the chain runs 5 steps, opening with Arsox and Chillet. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Menasting inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Menasting is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Blazehowl and Ghangler has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Blazehowl and Ghangler pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
