Gender odds on the Mimog and Surfent pair
Mimog is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 80% male, so the female you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Why an older Lovander combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Lovander when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2090. 214 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Lovander
2 breeding steps from a starter box reach Lovander. Surfent and Dumud make Surfent Terra, then Tombat and Surfent Terra make Lovander.
- 1
- 2
Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Lovander passive skill odds per egg
Lovander hatches with Abnormal already fixed, so only 3 of its four passive slots are ever in play. A parent pool of exactly those 3 lands all of them 30% of the time per egg. Four inherited passive skills is impossible for it, not merely unlikely.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 7.5% | 30 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 3.0% | 76 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 20.0% | 11 |
With 3 slots to play with, a junk passive on a parent is a cap rather than a delay. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in passive inheritance odds with a fixed passive skill, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Lovander worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Lovander spawns from level 30, well short of the 2-step chain it takes to make one. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 2 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 12 catch. With 214 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Lovander in the wild
Lovander spawns in Desiccated Dunes and 8 other areas, at level 30-40. Every one of those spawns is at night. Another 169 of its spawn points sit outside every named region.

| Desiccated Dunes · night | 30-40 | 327 |
| Twilight Dunes · night | 34-42 | 79 |

Lovander work suitability and drops
Lovander has Handiwork 3 and Medicine Production 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Cake when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Lovander is actually for once it hatches
Handiwork 3 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Handiwork pals for anything that does it properly. It works through the night, when the rest of the base is asleep.
Lovander active skills and partner skill
Lovander learns 10 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Heart Drain. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Paired with other species, Lovander produces 98 different children, the rarest of them Menasting and Kingpaca. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Lovander breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Lovander in Palworld?
- Yes. 214 pairs produce Lovander in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mimog and Surfent, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Lovander in Palworld?
- Mimog and Surfent, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 12, which makes it the cheapest of the 214 pairs that produce Lovander. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2090.
- Can you catch Lovander in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 30-42. Its spawn points fall inside 9 named regions, the densest Desiccated Dunes, where they run level 30-40 at night. There is no alpha Lovander, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 765 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Lovander breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 214 of Lovander's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Lovander be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 12 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 2 steps, opening with Surfent and Dumud. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Lovander inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- No. Lovander is born with Abnormal already fixed, which leaves 3 of its four passive slots for inherited ones. The most you can inherit onto it is 3, and with a clean pool of exactly those 3 that is 30% per egg.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mimog and Surfent pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
