Why an older Blazehowl combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Blazehowl when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1360. 229 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Blazehowl
3 breeding steps from a starter box reach Blazehowl. Eikthyrdeer and Hangyu make Eikthyrdeer Terra, then Dumud and Eikthyrdeer Terra make Dumud Gild, then Dumud Gild and Polapup Terra make Blazehowl.
- 1
- 2
- 3
Measured from an early-game box. Anything you already own further along cuts steps off, so load your save and it routes from there.
Blazehowl passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Blazehowl egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Blazehowl worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one. Blazehowl spawns from level 30, and the alpha at level 30 in Deep Bamboo Thicket hands you a guaranteed one on the way past. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 3 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 30 catch. With 229 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Blazehowl in the wild
Blazehowl spawns in Emberstone Plateau and 2 other areas, at level 65-67. Another 20 of its spawn points sit outside every named region. Its alpha stands at level 30 in Deep Bamboo Thicket.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Emberstone Plateau | 65-67 | 19 |
| Foot of the Volcano | 35-38 | 15 |
| Mount Obsidian | 35-38 | 2 |
Blazehowl work suitability and drops
Blazehowl has Kindling 5 and Lumbering 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Decayed Ancient Relic when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Blazehowl is actually for once it hatches
Kindling 5 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Kindling pals for what beats it. Attack 110 beats 72% of the roster, so it fights as well as it works.

Blazehowl breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Blazehowl in Palworld?
- Yes. 229 pairs produce Blazehowl in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Loupmoon Cryst and Vanwyrm Cryst, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Blazehowl in Palworld?
- Loupmoon Cryst and Vanwyrm Cryst, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 30, which makes it the cheapest of the 229 pairs that produce Blazehowl. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1360.
- Can you catch Blazehowl in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 30-80. Its spawn points fall inside 3 named regions, the densest Emberstone Plateau, where they run level 65-67. There is also an alpha Blazehowl at level 30 in Deep Bamboo Thicket, which beats waiting on a spawn. The map on this page marks 56 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Blazehowl breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 229 of Blazehowl's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Blazehowl be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 30 catch, so not much before mid-game. From a starter box the chain runs 3 steps, opening with Eikthyrdeer and Hangyu. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Blazehowl inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Blazehowl is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Loupmoon Cryst and Vanwyrm Cryst has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Loupmoon Cryst and Vanwyrm Cryst pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
