Gender odds on the Dumud and Finsider pair
Both Dumud and Finsider hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Cawgnito comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Cawgnito combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Cawgnito when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2370. 235 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Cawgnito
1 breeding step from a starter box reach Cawgnito. Croajiro and Munchill make Cawgnito.
- 1
Measured from an early-game box, so there is not much left to shorten. Load your save to check it against what you own.
Cawgnito passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Cawgnito egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Cawgnito worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one, and early. Cawgnito shows up from level 14, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 1 step, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 1 catch. With 235 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Cawgnito work suitability and drops
Cawgnito has Lumbering 2 and Farming 1 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Bone when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Cawgnito is actually for once it hatches
Lumbering 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Lumbering pals for anything that does it properly. It works through the night, when the rest of the base is asleep.
Cawgnito active skills and partner skill
Cawgnito learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Eerie Nightstreaker. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Cawgnito breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Cawgnito in Palworld?
- Yes. 235 pairs produce Cawgnito in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Dumud and Finsider, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Cawgnito in Palworld?
- Dumud and Finsider, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 235 pairs that produce Cawgnito. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2370.
- Can you catch Cawgnito in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 14-57. Its spawn points fall inside 20 named regions, the densest Desiccated Dunes, where they run level 28-37 at night. There is no alpha Cawgnito, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 1463 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Cawgnito breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 235 of Cawgnito's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Cawgnito be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 1 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 1 step, opening with Croajiro and Munchill. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Cawgnito inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Cawgnito is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Dumud and Finsider has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Dumud and Finsider pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
