Gender odds on the Tocotoco and Flambelle pair

Both Tocotoco and Flambelle hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Melpaca comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

All 98 parent combinations for Melpaca

Every pair that produces Melpaca averages to its breed rank of 2720, and 98 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Every pair here is two wild catches.

Why an older Melpaca combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Melpaca when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2720. 98 pairs hit that average. A page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample, not the set.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Melpaca

Melpaca is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 5-17, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.

Melpaca passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Melpaca egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in Palworld passive inheritance odds per egg, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Melpaca worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one, and early. Melpaca shows up from level 5, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. 98 pairs is a wide enough net that one of them probably matches your box.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Melpaca work suitability and drops

Melpaca has Farming 2 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Leather when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Melpaca is actually for once it hatches

Farming 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Farming pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 75 beats only 14% of the roster, so it is filler on both counts.

Melpaca active skills and partner skill

Melpaca learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Pacapaca Wool. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Melpaca breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Melpaca produces 105 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Melpaca breeding FAQ

Can you breed Melpaca in Palworld?
Yes. 98 pairs produce Melpaca in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Tocotoco and Flambelle, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Melpaca in Palworld?
Tocotoco and Flambelle, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 98 pairs that produce Melpaca. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2720.
Can you catch Melpaca in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 5-17. Its spawn points fall inside 7 named regions, the densest Sea Breeze Archipelago, where they run level 14-17. There is no alpha Melpaca, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 269 spawn points for it in total.
Are these Melpaca breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 98 of Melpaca's pairs are in the list. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Melpaca be bred in the early game?
Yes. Melpaca is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 5-17, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
Can Melpaca inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Melpaca is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Tocotoco and Flambelle has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Tocotoco and Flambelle pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
