Gender odds on the Dazzi and Flambelle pair
Dazzi is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 20% male, so the male you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Paldex entry
“Long ago, it was a giant and powerful aquatic Pal. However, as food became scarce, it evolved to live on land. Since walking requires much energy, it gradually became smaller and is now a small and puny Pal.”
Gobfin is a Water-type pal with 183 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 14-34. Shortest chain from a starter box: 1 step. Best jobs: Watering 2, Handiwork 2.
Partner skill
Angry Shark. When activated, attacks targeted enemy with Aqua Gun. When this Pal uses Aqua Gun, it has a x1.1 damage multiplier. While in party, increases the player's Attack by 10%.

Why an older Gobfin combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Gobfin when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2550. 183 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Gobfin
1 breeding step from a starter box reach Gobfin. Cattiva and Tombat make Gobfin.
- 1
Measured from an early-game box, so there is not much left to shorten. Load your save to check it against what you own.
Gobfin passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Gobfin egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Gobfin worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one, and early. Gobfin shows up from level 14, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 1 step, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 1 catch. With 183 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Gobfin in the wild
Gobfin spawns in Foot of the Volcano and 3 other areas, at level 22-26. Another 24 of its spawn points sit outside every named region.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Foot of the Volcano | 22-26 | 30 |
| Gobfin's Turf | 20-22 | 28 |
| Deep Bamboo Thicket | 14-17 | 13 |
| Ruined Fortress City | 30-34 | 12 |
Gobfin work suitability and drops
Gobfin has Watering 2 and Handiwork 2 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Aquatic Pal Fluids when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Gobfin is actually for once it hatches
Watering 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Watering pals for anything that does it properly. It eats 2 food slots, so it is cheap to keep fed.
Gobfin active skills and partner skill
Gobfin learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Angry Shark. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Gobfin breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Gobfin produces 103 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Gobfin breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Gobfin in Palworld?
- Yes. 183 pairs produce Gobfin in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Dazzi and Flambelle, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Gobfin in Palworld?
- Dazzi and Flambelle, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 183 pairs that produce Gobfin. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2550.
- Can you catch Gobfin in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 14-34. Its spawn points fall inside 4 named regions, the densest Foot of the Volcano, where they run level 22-26. There is no alpha Gobfin, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 107 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Gobfin breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 183 of Gobfin's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Gobfin be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 1 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 1 step, opening with Cattiva and Tombat. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Gobfin inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Gobfin is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Dazzi and Flambelle has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Dazzi and Flambelle pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
