Both Gildane and Eikthyrdeer Terra hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Celesdir comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Celesdir combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Celesdir when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 570. Only 2 pairs hit that average, so a stale list has a real chance of naming one that never worked.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Celesdir
No chain of starter pals reaches Celesdir inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 54-80.
Celesdir passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Celesdir egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in Palworld passive skill inheritance, step by step, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Celesdir worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Fight the alpha. It is a guaranteed Celesdir at level 65 in Crystalized Ancient Tree, and it stands in one place instead of making you wait on a level 54-80 spawn. Nothing in a starter box reaches it inside six generations, and the cheapest pair needs a level 53 catch. Only 2 pairs work, so the parents are specific and worth checking against what you own.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Celesdir breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Celesdir in Palworld?
- Yes. 2 pairs produce Celesdir in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Gildane and Eikthyrdeer Terra, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Celesdir in Palworld?
- Gildane and Eikthyrdeer Terra, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 53, which makes it the cheapest of the 2 pairs that produce Celesdir. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 570.
- Can you catch Celesdir in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 54-80. Its spawn points fall inside 13 named regions, the densest Deserted Ash Plateau, where they run level 59-65. There is also an alpha Celesdir at level 65 in Crystalized Ancient Tree, which beats waiting on a spawn.
- Are these Celesdir breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 2 of Celesdir's pairs are in the list. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Celesdir be bred in the early game?
- No. No chain of starter pals reaches Celesdir inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 54-80. 2 pairs breed more of them, the cheapest Gildane and Eikthyrdeer Terra, which needs a level 53 catch of its own.
- Can Celesdir inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Celesdir is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Gildane and Eikthyrdeer Terra has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
