Gender odds on the Sparkit and Cremis pair
Both Sparkit and Cremis hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Gumoss comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

“A strange Pal with a body resembling tree sap. It gradually loses strength if it has nothing to cover its body with, eventually rotting away.”
Gumoss is a Grass/Ground-type pal with 52 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 2-13. It is an early-game catch, so nothing needs breeding. Best jobs: Planting 1.

Why an older Gumoss combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Gumoss when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2950. 52 pairs hit that average. A page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample, not the set.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Gumoss
Gumoss is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 2-13, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.
Gumoss passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Gumoss egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in Palworld passive inheritance odds per egg, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Gumoss worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Catch one, and early. Gumoss shows up from level 2, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. 52 pairs is a wide enough net that one of them probably matches your box.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Gumoss in the wild
Gumoss spawns in Flying Fish Coast and 4 other areas, at level 2-4. Another 41 of its spawn points sit outside every named region. Its alpha stands at level 11 in Sea Breeze Archipelago.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Flying Fish Coast | 2-4 | 78 |
| Eastern Wild Island | 4-6 | 32 |
| Marsh Island | 4-6 | 24 |
| Fortress Ruins | 5-7 | 19 |
| Windswept Island | 2-7 | 17 |
Gumoss work suitability and drops
Gumoss has Planting 1 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Berry Seeds when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Gumoss is actually for once it hatches
Planting 1 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Planting pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 70 beats only 4% of the roster, so it is filler on both counts.
Gumoss active skills and partner skill
Gumoss learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Logging Assistance. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Gumoss breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Gumoss produces 110 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Gumoss breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Gumoss in Palworld?
- Yes. 52 pairs produce Gumoss in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Sparkit and Cremis, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Gumoss in Palworld?
- Sparkit and Cremis, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 52 pairs that produce Gumoss. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2950.
- Can you catch Gumoss in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 2-13. Its spawn points fall inside 5 named regions, the densest Flying Fish Coast, where they run level 2-4. There is also an alpha Gumoss at level 11 in Sea Breeze Archipelago, which beats waiting on a spawn.
- Are these Gumoss breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 52 of Gumoss's pairs are in the list. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Gumoss be bred in the early game?
- Yes. Gumoss is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 2-13, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
- Can Gumoss inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Gumoss is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Sparkit and Cremis has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Sparkit and Cremis pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
