Gender odds on the Mimog and Penking pair

Mimog is the awkward half of this pair. It hatches 80% male, so the female you need turns up 20 times in a hundred. Catch or hatch several before you count on one. The other parent is a straight 50/50. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all.

Paldex entry

“In older paintings, it is depicted as much smaller than it is today. For reasons unknown, various parts of its body have begun to elongate rapidly in recent years, and it is predicted to reach nearly ten times its current size within the next century.”

The 120 easiest of 1021 parent pairs for Valentail

Every pair that produces Valentail averages to its breed rank of 1900, and 1021 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 901 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Valentail combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Valentail when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1900. 1021 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Valentail

2 breeding steps from a starter box reach Valentail. Arsox and Chillet make Chillet Ignis, then Chillet Ignis and Surfent Terra make Valentail.

Valentail passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Valentail egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

2 specific passives2 60.0%3

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the full Palworld passive inheritance odds table, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Valentail worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Breed toward it, then catch one when you get there. Valentail only spawns at level 63-69, late enough that a 2-step chain often lands first. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 2 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 15 catch. With 1021 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Where to find Valentail in the wild

Valentail carries a wild level band of 63-69 in Palworld 1.0, and no named region on the map has a spawn point attributed to it. There is no alpha to fall back on either. Treat the band as the level to be at, not as a place to camp.

Valentail work suitability and drops

Valentail has Gathering 2 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Leather when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Valentail is actually for once it hatches

Gathering 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Gathering pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 80 beats only 21% of the roster, so it is filler on both counts.

Valentail active skills and partner skill

Valentail learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Big Stretch. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Valentail breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Valentail produces 101 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Valentail breeding FAQ

Can you breed Valentail in Palworld?
Yes. 1021 pairs produce Valentail in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Mimog and Penking, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Valentail in Palworld?
Mimog and Penking, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 15, which makes it the cheapest of the 1021 pairs that produce Valentail. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1900.
Can you catch Valentail in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 63-69. Its spawn points do not fall inside any named region on the map. There is no alpha Valentail to fall back on either, so the 1021 pairs on this page are the dependable alternative. It is active in daylight.
Are these Valentail breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 1021 of Valentail's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Valentail be bred in the early game?
The cheapest pair needs a level 15 catch, so yes, comfortably. From a starter box the chain runs 2 steps, opening with Arsox and Chillet. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
Can Valentail inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Valentail is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Mimog and Penking has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Mimog and Penking pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
