Gender odds on the Fuddler and Cattiva pair

Both Fuddler and Cattiva hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Hangyu comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Paldex entry

“Its gigantic arms can rip apart even iron. As a particularly cruel form of execution, serious criminals would be strung up in a public square, and a Hangyu would tear the skin right from their bones.”

Hangyu is a Ground-type pal with 85 parent pairs in Palworld 1.0, and not one of them is a special one-off recipe. Wild ones sit at level 9-40. It is an early-game catch, so nothing needs breeding. Best jobs: Transporting 2, Handiwork 1.

All 85 parent combinations for Hangyu

Every pair that produces Hangyu averages to its breed rank of 2780, and 85 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Every pair here is two wild catches.

Why an older Hangyu combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Hangyu when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 2780. 85 pairs hit that average. A page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample, not the set.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Hangyu

Hangyu is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 9-40, so there is no chain to build. It is one of the 59 species every route on this site is measured from.

Hangyu passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Hangyu egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in Palworld passive inheritance odds per egg, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Hangyu worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Catch one, and early. Hangyu shows up from level 9, so you will meet one long before a pair is worth assembling. You almost certainly own one already. 85 pairs is a wide enough net that one of them probably matches your box.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Where to find Hangyu in the wild

Hangyu carries a wild level band of 9-40 in Palworld 1.0, and no named region on the map has a spawn point attributed to it. There is no alpha to fall back on either. Treat the band as the level to be at, not as a place to camp.

Hangyu work suitability and drops

Hangyu has Transporting 2 and Handiwork 1 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Fiber when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Hangyu is actually for once it hatches

Transporting 2 is the best it does, which is base filler out of a ceiling of 8. Check best Transporting pals for anything that does it properly. Attack 70 beats only 4% of the roster, so it is filler on both counts.

Hangyu active skills and partner skill

Hangyu learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Flying Trapeze. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Hangyu breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Hangyu produces 108 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Hangyu breeding FAQ

Can you breed Hangyu in Palworld?
Yes. 85 pairs produce Hangyu in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Fuddler and Cattiva, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Hangyu in Palworld?
Fuddler and Cattiva, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 1, which makes it the cheapest of the 85 pairs that produce Hangyu. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 2780.
Can you catch Hangyu in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 9-40. Its spawn points do not fall inside any named region on the map. There is no alpha Hangyu to fall back on either, so the 85 pairs on this page are the dependable alternative. It is active in daylight.
Are these Hangyu breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 85 of Hangyu's pairs are in the list. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Hangyu be bred in the early game?
Yes. Hangyu is one of the pals a starter box already holds, catchable at level 9-40, so nothing has to be bred first. Any pair you build from it is about rolling passive skills rather than about getting hold of the species.
Can Hangyu inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Hangyu is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Fuddler and Cattiva has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Fuddler and Cattiva pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
