Why an older Ophydia combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Ophydia when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 230. 316 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Ophydia
No chain of starter pals reaches Ophydia inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 69-80.
Ophydia passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Ophydia egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the full Palworld passive inheritance odds table, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Ophydia worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Fight the alpha. It is a guaranteed Ophydia at level 69, and it stands in one place instead of making you wait on a level 69-80 spawn. Nothing in a starter box reaches it inside six generations, and the cheapest pair needs a level 55 catch. With 316 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Ophydia in the wild
Ophydia has an alpha at level 69, and that is the one fixed Ophydia on the map. The game gives it a wild band of level 69-80 on top of that, though no named region carries a spawn point attributed to it. An alpha is a guaranteed catch rather than a spawn you wait for.
Ophydia work suitability and drops
Ophydia has Planting 7 and Watering 5 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Decayed Ancient Relic when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Ophydia is actually for once it hatches
Planting 7 is the reason to keep one, one off the ceiling of 8. Put it on that job and leave it there. Ranked against the rest on best Planting pals. It eats 9 food slots a sitting, which is a real cost once a base is full. At rarity 9 of 20 you will not trip over one.
Ophydia active skills and partner skill
Ophydia learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Glorious Mist. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Paired with other species, Ophydia produces 70 different children, the rarest of them Anubis and Menasting. 66 of those pairings use a partner you can catch in the wild.
Ophydia breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Ophydia in Palworld?
- Yes. 316 pairs produce Ophydia in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Knocklem and Lyleen Noct, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Ophydia in Palworld?
- Knocklem and Lyleen Noct, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 55, which makes it the cheapest of the 316 pairs that produce Ophydia. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 230.
- Can you catch Ophydia in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 69-80. Its spawn points do not fall inside any named region on the map, though the map on this page marks 1 of them. The alpha at level 69 is the reliable one to go for, because it stands in one place.
- Are these Ophydia breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 316 of Ophydia's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Ophydia be bred in the early game?
- No. No chain of starter pals reaches Ophydia inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 69-80. 316 pairs breed more of them, the cheapest Knocklem and Lyleen Noct, which needs a level 55 catch of its own.
- Can Ophydia inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Ophydia is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Knocklem and Lyleen Noct has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Knocklem and Lyleen Noct pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
