Gender odds on the Blazamut and Menasting Terra pair
Both Blazamut and Menasting Terra hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Roujay itself comes out 60% male, which matters later if you pair two of them. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Roujay combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Roujay when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 530. 148 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Roujay
No chain of starter pals reaches Roujay inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 74-78.
Roujay passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Roujay egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the Palworld passive inheritance odds guide, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Roujay worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Breed toward it, then catch one when you get there. Roujay only spawns at level 74-78, late enough that a pair often lands first. Nothing in a starter box reaches it inside six generations, and the cheapest pair needs a level 48 catch. With 148 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Roujay in the wild
Roujay carries a wild level band of 74-78 in Palworld 1.0, and no named region on the map has a spawn point attributed to it. There is no alpha to fall back on either. Treat the band as the level to be at, not as a place to camp.
Roujay work suitability and drops
Roujay has Gathering 5 and Transporting 5 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Decayed Ancient Relic when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Roujay is actually for once it hatches
Gathering 5 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Gathering pals for what beats it. Transporting 5 sits right behind it, so one Roujay covers two jobs.
Roujay active skills and partner skill
Roujay learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Dark-Nester. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Roujay breeds into as a parent
Paired with other species, Roujay produces 80 different children, the rarest of them Anubis and Menasting. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.
Roujay breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Roujay in Palworld?
- Yes. 148 pairs produce Roujay in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Blazamut and Menasting Terra, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Roujay in Palworld?
- Blazamut and Menasting Terra, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 48, which makes it the cheapest of the 148 pairs that produce Roujay. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 530.
- Can you catch Roujay in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 74-78. Its spawn points do not fall inside any named region on the map. There is no alpha Roujay to fall back on either, so the 148 pairs on this page are the dependable alternative. Roujay is nocturnal, so hunt for it after dark.
- Are these Roujay breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 148 of Roujay's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Roujay be bred in the early game?
- No. No chain of starter pals reaches Roujay inside six generations, so the first one has to be caught at level 74-78. 148 pairs breed more of them, the cheapest Blazamut and Menasting Terra, which needs a level 48 catch of its own.
- Can Roujay inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Roujay is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Blazamut and Menasting Terra has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Blazamut and Menasting Terra pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
