Gender odds on the Vanwyrm and Vanwyrm Cryst pair

Both Vanwyrm and Vanwyrm Cryst hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Bakemi itself comes out 40% male, which matters later if you pair two of them. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Paldex entry

“It lives entirely for the thrill of the scare, but is utterly un-frightening. As most cannot help but indulge it with feigned surprise for its cuteness, Bakemi now leaves a trail of smiles in its wake.”

The 120 easiest of 401 parent pairs for Bakemi

Every pair that produces Bakemi averages to its breed rank of 1540, and 401 pairs in the Palworld 1.0 table hit that number. Opposite genders, cake in the breeding farm, then the egg goes in an egg incubator. Some are two wild catches. The rest need a breed first.

The list stops at 120. Open the planner to filter the other 281 against the pals you already own.

Why an older Bakemi combo list won't work

Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Bakemi when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1540. 401 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.

Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.

The shortest breeding path to Bakemi

3 breeding steps from a starter box reach Bakemi. Arsox and Chillet make Chillet Ignis, then Chillet Ignis and Dumud Gild make Elizabee, then Elizabee and Loupmoon Cryst make Bakemi.

Bakemi passive skill odds per egg

A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Bakemi egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.

One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the full Palworld passive inheritance odds table, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.

Is Bakemi worth breeding, or should you catch one?

Breed toward it, then catch one when you get there. Bakemi only spawns at level 65-69, late enough that a 3-step chain often lands first. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 3 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 23 catch. With 401 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.

Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.

Where to find Bakemi in the wild

Bakemi carries a wild level band of 65-69 in Palworld 1.0, and no named region on the map has a spawn point attributed to it. There is no alpha to fall back on either. Treat the band as the level to be at, not as a place to camp.

Bakemi work suitability and drops

Bakemi has Medicine Production 4 and Handiwork 3 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Cloth when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.

What Bakemi is actually for once it hatches

Medicine Production 4 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Medicine Production pals for what beats it. It works through the night, when the rest of the base is asleep.

Bakemi active skills and partner skill

Bakemi learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Grinning Death. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

What Bakemi breeds into as a parent

Paired with other species, Bakemi produces 94 different children, the rarest of them Kingpaca and Vaelet. A parent that wide is worth a farm slot on its own.

Bakemi breeding FAQ

Can you breed Bakemi in Palworld?
Yes. 401 pairs produce Bakemi in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Vanwyrm and Vanwyrm Cryst, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
What two Pals make Bakemi in Palworld?
Vanwyrm and Vanwyrm Cryst, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 23, which makes it the cheapest of the 401 pairs that produce Bakemi. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1540.
Can you catch Bakemi in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, at level 65-69. Its spawn points do not fall inside any named region on the map. There is no alpha Bakemi to fall back on either, so the 401 pairs on this page are the dependable alternative. Bakemi is nocturnal, so hunt for it after dark.
Are these Bakemi breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 401 of Bakemi's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
Can Bakemi be bred in the early game?
The cheapest pair needs a level 23 catch, so not much before mid-game. From a starter box the chain runs 3 steps, opening with Arsox and Chillet. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
Can Bakemi inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Bakemi is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Vanwyrm and Vanwyrm Cryst has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.

Route this pair from your own save

Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Vanwyrm and Vanwyrm Cryst pair you already own. It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
