Gender odds on the Broncherry and Helzephyr pair
Both Broncherry and Helzephyr hatch 50/50 male, so every one you catch is a coin flip and two of each covers it. Icelyn comes out 50/50 too. Two of the same gender produces nothing at all, however right the pair is.

Why an older Icelyn combo list won't work
Pre-1.0 guides name a recipe. The 1.0 table works on averages: a pair produces Icelyn when the two parents' breed ranks average to its 1260. 326 different pairs hit that average, which is why a page showing five or six rows is quoting a sample rather than an answer.
Ours is the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated from the rank formula. The 19,044 figure still in circulation is 138 squared, the pre-1.0 roster of base forms counted as ordered pairs, so it measures something else. One pair shows the difference. Every calculator downstream of palcalc ships Panthalus and Panthalus as breeding true, and the game's own tables prove it cannot, because that pair yields Aegidron.
The shortest breeding path to Icelyn
5 breeding steps from a starter box reach Icelyn, beginning with Arsox and Chillet. Every egg after that becomes a parent in the next step.
- 1
- 2
- 3

Icelyn passive skill odds per egg
A clean four-passive pool across both parents gives 10.0% per Icelyn egg, which is about 22 eggs for a 90% shot at all four. Every extra passive skill on either parent lowers it.
| You want | Parent pool | Per egg | Eggs for 90% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 specific passives | 4 | 10.0% | 22 |
| 4 specific passives | 5 | 2.0% | 114 |
| 4 specific passives | 6 | 0.7% | 345 |
| 3 specific passives | 3 | 30.0% | 7 |
| 3 specific passives | 4 | 15.0% | 15 |
| 3 specific passives | 5 | 6.0% | 38 |
| 2 specific passives | 2 | 60.0% | 3 |
| 2 specific passives | 4 | 25.0% | 9 |
One junk passive on a parent can double the eggs you need. The per-egg column is the chance every passive skill you want lands on the egg, with random extras allowed. The roll behind these numbers is worked through in the full Palworld passive inheritance odds table, and the planner ranks the pairs in your own box by them.
Is Icelyn worth breeding, or should you catch one?
Breed toward it, then catch one when you get there. Icelyn only spawns at level 45-48, late enough that a 5-step chain often lands first. The shortest chain from a starter box runs 5 steps, and the cheapest pair still needs a level 24 catch. With 326 pairs on the list, one half of one of them is probably in your box already.
Breed it anyway once you own one. A pair is how you roll passive skills; catching is how you get the species.
Where to find Icelyn in the wild
Icelyn spawns in Astral Mountains, the one named region its markers land in, at level 45-48. Another 2 of its spawn points sit outside every named region.
| Region | Level | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|
| Astral Mountains | 45-48 | 36 |
Icelyn work suitability and drops
Icelyn has Handiwork 5 and Cooling 5 in Palworld 1.0, and drops Ancient Civilization Parts and Ice Organ when killed or caught. Those levels and the drop rows come from our own export of the game's tables.
What Icelyn is actually for once it hatches
Handiwork 5 is the job to put it on, mid-table out of a ceiling of 8. See best Handiwork pals for what beats it. Cooling 5 sits right behind it, so one Icelyn covers two jobs.
Icelyn active skills and partner skill
Icelyn learns 8 active skills as it levels, the last at level 70. Its partner skill is Witch's Icy Veil. That learnset is our own export of the game's level table, cooldowns and all.

Icelyn breeding FAQ
- Can you breed Icelyn in Palworld?
- Yes. 326 pairs produce Icelyn in the Palworld 1.0 breeding table. Both parents have to be opposite genders, in a breeding farm, with cake in the feed box. The cheapest of those pairs is Broncherry and Helzephyr, and the egg then needs an egg incubator to hatch.
- What two Pals make Icelyn in Palworld?
- Broncherry and Helzephyr, opposite genders. Both are catchable in the wild from about level 24, which makes it the cheapest of the 326 pairs that produce Icelyn. Every other pair is listed on this page. Both parents average to its breed rank of 1260.
- Can you catch Icelyn in the wild in Palworld 1.0?
- Yes, at level 45-48. Its spawn points fall inside one named region, Astral Mountains, where they run level 45-48. There is no alpha Icelyn, so field spawns are the only source of one. The map on this page marks 38 spawn points for it in total.
- Are these Icelyn breeding combos updated for Palworld 1.0?
- Yes. Every pair here comes out of the game's real 44,849-pair table, shipped verbatim rather than approximated. All 326 of Icelyn's pairs are in the list, with the easiest 120 shown. Panthalus and Panthalus is the usual tell of a stale list, and the game's tables rule it out.
- Can Icelyn be bred in the early game?
- The cheapest pair needs a level 24 catch, so not much before mid-game. From a starter box the chain runs 5 steps, opening with Arsox and Chillet. Anything you already own further along shortens it, which is the part loading your own save changes.
- Can Icelyn inherit all four passive skills from one egg?
- Only if both parents' combined pool is exactly those four. Icelyn is born with no fixed passive, so all four slots are open, and a pair like Broncherry and Helzephyr has to carry nothing else. A clean four-passive pool is 10% per egg, about 22 eggs for a 90% shot.
Route this pair from your own save
Pal Hatchery reads your Level.sav in your browser and tells you which half of the Broncherry and Helzephyr pair you already own.
It reads genders, levels and passive skills off the save, then routes from there. Nothing is uploaded.
